Greetings from the Ether,
As our Kickstarter reaches the final days, we wanted to give a boost to some other projects you might find of interest, including the Props of Nyarlathotep Kickstarter that only has a few days left. If you’re into RPGs and tabletop games, especially Lovecraftian or Cthulhu Mythos-related ones, this is for you.
“After the successes of London and Cairo, New York and Kenya and Perù, we launch this funding to the last chapters of this epic campaign : Australia and Shanghai. This project is licensed by Chaosium.
I believe RPG should be an intense and immersive experience, that’s why I am creating objects to enhance the level of that experience. My care for details, texture, weight and even odour is my priority to take you on the journey.
We want to propose some props that could help Keepers to enhance the gaming experience. The Sculptures created have for most of them never been proposed before, but we mainly thought about what they could bring to the narrative. They are designed to help the keeper to move the story forward and to help the keeper to give to the villains something memorable, that will trigger the investigators to fear them.
If you intend to run a campaign or if you have already played the Masks of Nyarlathotep, you probably already know why you are here.
Maybe you will enjoy running it again with quality props, if you are not a keeper and you intend to play the campaign, you should be aware that their may be some SPOILERS AHEAD, but maybe you could be interested by doing it with your current keeper and tell him about our Kickstarter.
Much effort and dedication has gone into putting these specialty items together. This crowdfunding opportunity may be the only way to acquire such one-of-a-kind props as they will most likely never be offered commercially again. If you are a true fan of the Masks of Nyarlathotep and wish to enhance your gaming experience, this is a truly unique opportunity to do so.
Newcomers, here are some backers’ feedbacks about our previous Kickstarters :
“Great work once again Delphes. All of the accessories look great and I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the next chapter.” – Adam Alexander
“Delphes job well done. Your art is always evocative and well executed. Beautiful stuff. I had some minor breakage in my original shipment and you quickly got me a replacement. In our correspondence I can tell you’re deeply committed to your art and take great pride in getting everything perfect including customer fulfillment. This being my second highly satisfying KickStarter with you, I can’t wait for the next one. Thankfully, I won’t have to wait long.” –Shawn P.
“Everything is of surpassing quality, especially the Mirror and Scepters. Definitely evokes a feeling that they are grotesque alien parodies of ancient Egyptian artifacts. They look as if they were grown from something otherworldly rather than merely fashioned.” – Anthony Schocke
“Thanks Delphes. A very nice addition along with the Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion.” Jonathan Geere
The Memorabilia Coins
We like to use coins during our game sessions, a lot of them actually. It’s an elegant way to keep tracks of spend points (Luck, MP or HP) or to signal a spot on a Map or the progressing of the Investigators. The Memorabilia can even be used as props, shown by a NPC if you want to say that it was issued for the departure of the expedition in 1919. Erica Carlyle for example could give one coin to each Investigator while talking about her brother. In any case, it’s a great way to let the player keep always a visual reminder of an important character.
You can buy 10 identical coins, with Roger Carlyle on one side and a New York view on the other. We would like ultimately to propose the other members of the Carlyle expedition, but it is at this point difficult to be sure it can be done. It will depend greatly on the success of the first set, but if there is an interst we will propose the other members (Robert Huston, Aubrey Penhew Hypatia Masters and even Jack Brady) and destinations as hidden Stretch Goals.
If you need more than 10 coins, you can of course order more (but only by 10).
The coins will be edited by Campaign Coins, creators of the Call of Cthulhu Innsmouth Gold coins and many other quality products. If you don’t know Campaign Coins already, you can check their website here : Campaign Coins.
We thought that tattoos from the Sand Bat and the Bloated Woman could could be of use for keepers who like to give visual cues to their players that some mayhem may ensue !
You can order 10 temporary tattoos of each (12 if we reach the stretch goal). They will be printed by a french renown professional of temporary tattoos. The printed tattoos will be safe for all skin types, and hypoallergenic.
If you need more tattoos, you can of course order them (but only by 10).
The Painting of the Carlyle Expedition
You can order a painting of the Carlyle Expedition, it will be done by Delphes as a watercolor in the style of the 1920s. The idea is to hang it in the game room, so the player will have on display the expedition they are chasing through the world. It will be based on the photograph published in the Cairo Bulletin showing Sir Aubrey, Roger Carlyle, Hypatia Masters, and Dr. Robert Huston emerging from a dinner in their honor at the Turf Club, with Jack Brady in the background.
There will be two versions available :
• One printed on a deluxe paper.
• One on a real canvas enhanced with a painting finish by Delphes, making each exemplary unique.
The Sand Bat Club
For each country visited, we tried to propose a cultish object that reflected a distorted lovecraftian version of the local culture. The cult of the Sand Bat is used by the cultists as a weapon and found in the Death Camp, and the investigators can keep the deviant item for themselves.
The club is embedded with sharp “teeth” of bats, alike the proper tool uses for sacrifices to struck the victims. Delphes said she thought about the shapes of bat-winged snakes and added strange carvings while creating it.
The club is 27cm and will be hand painted by Delphes.
As an add-on you can also order an aged wooden box stamped with the Sign of the Sand Bat that can hide the club from the preying eyes of the investigators.
The Bloated Woman
The sculpture was a long and passionate work. We wanted it to convey the surprise given by the description of the Bloated WomanI first encounter like she took on the appearance of beautiful Chinese maiden, holding her black fan and morphing into a disgusting form of Nyarlathotep.
The bloated woman will be casted in acrylic resin and hand-painted with a secret ingredient to give it an ivory apparence (the fan will be black in the definitive version). Dimensions : 26x14x9cm, sells with its wooden saddle.
As an add-on you can also order a wooden box decorated by hand in a chinese style for the sculpture to help to make a more dramatic reveal.
Who are We ?
I am a classically trained sculptor based in Paris. My husband Denys is a Call of Cthulhu Keeper and he often asks me to help him make props for his campaigns. He is the one who made me discover the role playing game. Denys is also a screenwriter and a bit of an infographic designer. So he is helping me a lot to elaborate and decide this proposal. I can say that he’s my art director !
Because he and his players enjoy and appreciate using the props & handouts I create so much, we thought others would too!
But we can’t do this project alone… So, if you would like to own a fine-art quality prop, and tailor made handouts, you can help us create some great props by participating in this crowdfunding campaign!
We wanted to offer new props for The Masks of Nyarlathotep even before doing the successful Sedefkar Simulacrum crowdfunding in 2015. But we knew this campaign needed something special and we wanted to take our time and acquire the experience of a successful crowdfunding before launching such an ambitious project.

Why the Crowdfunding ?
We need funds to pay for :
• The casting of the sculptures (it will be done in France either by myself or by professionals casters).
• Painting materials.
• All the required work, since everything is made by hand. I need to dedicate a lot of time to the details on the shapes and several layouts of paintings in order to make a real piece of art that will, I hope, enhance your gaming.
The 3500€ goal should allow us to begin production.”
Thanks for stopping by and make sure to check out this Kickstarter! While you’re at it, our Kickstarter is in its final days, so make sure to help us reach the stretch goals before it ends!
